World Naked Bike Ride – WNBR London

This site provides information about the World Naked Bike Ride in London. If you continue you will see some non-sexual images of naked bike riders. It is a popular, peaceful, legal, public protest on the streets of London but parental guidance is advised to ensure the beneficial intent of the ride is understood and well received.

WNBR London – riding annually since 2004

WNBR London 2026 was excellent. It was warm and sunny so participants enjoyed a wonderful day out and we had a large turnout. We counted and accounted for over 1,000 riders.

All volunteers agreed that moving to a Sunday led to a more pleasant, quieter ride. At the debrief meeting we agreed to plan for Sunday again in 2027 – probably Sunday 13th June 2027 – save the date!

WNBR London is a not-for-profit, unincorporated association. It is a membership organisation, defined by its constitution. The campaign seeks to draw attention to its themes by being a fun, well-behaved, lawful spectacle that delights the public and attracts media attention. It is affiliated to WNBR UK and to the global World Naked Bike Ride network. It is not connected to other protest, cycling or naturist organisations.

The annual WNBR London Naked Bike Ride is worthy, free, fun,  legal and it’s making the world a better place for everyone.

Cleaner environment, safer roads, healthier lifestyles, better attitudes!

The ride demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists and is a protest against car culture. WNBR is a worldwide campaign with a number of linked themes.

Its objectives are to:

  • protest against the global dependency on oil
  • curb car culture
  • obtain real rights for cyclists
  • demonstrate the vulnerability of cyclists on city streets
  • celebrate body freedom

Activities

The 2026 ride is now finished, but we’re leaving the details here for the time being. Our planning assumption is that the next ride will be Sunday 13th June 2027. Do you want to be on the planning team? Let us know! Have you got a new start you could offer? Let us know!

In recent years the Saturday has become increasingly busy with more traffic, events, road closures, diversions, crane operations, crowds, protests, counter-protests, police lockdowns, and, of course, the Trooping of the Colour. In 2024 we had to rearrange almost everything to avoid the clashes and closures. In 2025 we managed to stick to the plan, but it was hard work.

In 2026 we hope to have a better time by riding on the Sunday. WNBR London rides on Sunday 14th June 2026. If you are thinking that clashes with WNBR Brighton – no it doesn’t. This year Brighton will ride on Saturday 12th September. It was rescheduled due to potentially violent protests and counter protests.

As we don’t need to avoid overlaps with Trooping of the Colour, we have scheduled the 2026 ride to run 30 minutes earlier, and made some route changes, so please take note of the new times.

You don’t need to sign up or pay to participate in WNBR London. You just need to be in the right place at the right time with a bike to ride. You are invited to register your interest on our Facebook events so that we can see how popular they are and you can invite all your friends to join you.

Some starts have the option of socialising, refreshments and body painting. Gather time is the earliest you can arrive.

Sometimes there is an unanticipated need to change these arrangements, so please check this website or social media before you set off.

No one is paid for running WNBR London, but we do have some significant expenses like the professional security team, radio comms hire, road closure fees, website, insurance, printing, marshals’ ID, etc.
