Nothing makes for a great ride as much as a lot of noise.
It’s great to hear the whistles, shouts, vuvuzelas, klaxons and all that. But best of all are the cycling sound systems – great to dance along to. Great to attract attention.
But you need to turn them off near Whitehall and the Houses of Parliament. The use of PA equipment or amplification within the Serious and Organised Crime Police Act (SOCPA) zone is not legal.
That means you should turn off any sound amplification for the sections of ride along Whitehall, Parliament Square, Westminster Bridge and York Road.
Please, please get anyone you know with sound to get on their bike for us!
