Privacy and Cookie Policy

WNBR London does not request or keep any personal data about you on this site. Visitors are not able to have their own accounts or log in or make transactions. We do not collect any information about you or share your details with any other parties.

Cookies

This site only uses the standard cookies supplied as part of WordPress and its plugins. These are small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. We make no use of those cookies.

In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies make your browsing experience better. In our case, they have little use or relevance since we do not give you the ability to log in, browse products, or buy things etc.

However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

Mailing List

We use an external provider to manage our mailing list, which you are welcome to opt in to if you wish. To join the mailing list you need to respond to a sign-up email, which ensures the request to join was made by you. We send out mailings only to communicate important information about the ride. You will not get frequent or regular updates. You can unsubscribe using the link on every mailing.

Donations and any other payments by PayPal

If you are kind enough to make a donation, that is handled by PayPal and details of the transaction are held on their system. We receive a confirmation by email, which will be handled by our email system in the normal way.

Ticketed Events

We usually use the external provider Eventbrite to handle ticket sales and processing. Your information will reside on their site. We receive a confirmation by email, which will be handled by our email system in the normal way. We have online access to relevant information on Eventbrite to manage the event.

Contributed Photographs and Other Content

We do not regularly invite contributions. When we do consider publishing content you have sent us, you must be able to assure us that it is your content, that you agree to its use and sharing by us, and that any people featured in the content have also given their explicit permission for use in this way. (Featured means that the individual is clearly identifiable and a significant person in the content. It would not apply to crowd scenes or people in the distant background.) Photographs should also be taken in line with our photo policy.

Messages and eMail

You can contact us in many ways. If you send us a message by our contact form, email, or messaging services (eg Facebook, Instagram, X formerly known as Twitter), your message will be handled by the system you used and may be retained by it. Likewise, if you have posted on social media to us or in response our posts, your message will be retained by that system. We reserve the right to block or delete posts so far as we have the power to do so. Please bear in mind that WNBR London has no interest in sexual activities or content.

Volunteers and Helpers

We encourage and welcome volunteers. Nobody is paid to run WNBR London – we are all volunteers working for free. You may have contacted us by the volunteer form or email or any other messaging system. Your details will be kept so we can contact you and manage your contributions. All such information is held offline and cannot be accessed through our online system. It is also our usual practice not to identify volunteers by their full name or share their contact details except with their explicit consent (eg so ride leaders can be contacted by marshals during the ride).
