WNBR London 2026
Dear supporter, here’s a first update about WNBR London 2026. We hope you are still happy to hear about the ride, but, if not, don’t grumble, just unsubscribe – see the link at the end.
The Date – SUNDAY 14th June 2026
Well, that might be a surprise!
In recent years the Saturday has become increasingly busy with more traffic, events, road closures, diversions, crane operations, protests, counter-protests, police lockdowns, and, of course, the Trooping of the Colour. In 2026 we hope to have a better time by riding on the Sunday, 14th June. Our friends in WNBR Brighton were interested in moving to a Saturday, so we have swapped dates.
We can never be 100% certain about the arrangements until close to the day, so we advise you not to make any firm travel plans unless you need to. Our dates, routes and timing always need to be reviewed and accepted by the police. There is also the chance of unanticipated events or occurrences that undo our plans – for example, pandemic, state visits, funerals, etc. But our plans are firmly focused on 14th June!
Starts, Timing and Routes
It’s too early to publish the details for 2026. We hope to keep most of the arrangements the same as last year.
Can you find us a new start?
It would be great to find some new start points that provide good privacy and facilities. Think deep! Talk to people! Find out whether they would be interested. We don’t want untested lists of ideas; we don’t have time to investigate and cold call. We want you to introduce us to people who are interested in talking to us. We’re not rich but we could pay a modest fee for use of a good place.
A start should be easy to get to and a comfortable ride from Central London – 2 to 10 miles would be good. There needs to be space for riders and their bicycles. If it also has some covered space, toilets and maybe food or refreshments that would be great. It would need to be available from say 1pm to 3pm on Sunday 14th June.
The Collective
WNBR London is a collective of everyone who participates or supports it – yes you’re part of the collective. The organisers have had their first meeting of the year. If you have a good understanding of the ride and its objectives, you might like to join the team. We’re always looking for doers (we’ve got plenty of talkers). Later in the year we’ll be looking for marshals, stewards, first aiders, body painters, party organisers etc.
Last Year’s Ride
In 2025, WNBR London rode nine routes from Clapham Junction, Croydon, Deptford, Hackney Wick, Kew Bridge, Regents Park, Tower Hill, Wellington Arch, and an accessible easy start option. It was a warm, mostly sunny day. We counted over 1,200 riders.
As is often the case, the ride coincided with the Trooping of the Colour in the morning. You can read more and watch our video at https://wnbrlondon.uk/wnbr-london-2025-news-video/. The film follows the riders starting at Wellington Arch, which was also involved in the royal celebrations. Early arrivers were able to watch the flypast by the Red Arrows, followed by the King, other royalty, the horse guards and marching bands processing through the start location.
Bike Hire
There are several options for docked and undocked street hire bikes. You can find some information on our website.
Our regular bike hire partners, London Bicycle Tour Company, have extended their discount for the benefit of people combining the ride with sightseeing. The discount code is WNBR1026 for hires of any length between Friday 12/6 and Tuesday 16/6.
Please Donate!
The ride is made possible by volunteer helpers and generous donations from our participants. No one is paid for running WNBR London, but we do have some significant expenses like the professional security team, radio comms hire, road closure fees, website, insurance, printing, marshals’ ID, etc.

About the World Naked Bike Ride
The World Naked Bike Ride is a global protest movement with rides in cities around the world. There are over 200 cities in 35 countries around the world that have WNBR activities. As well as promoting healthy life choices it can also be the best fun you can ever have on two wheels. The London ride has the excitement of a carnival, with big crowds to cheer it on. It is a “naked bike ride” but you can be “as bare as you dare” – body painting and fancy dress are welcome. It is fun, legal and all in a worthy cause.
Every year, in cities around the world, people ride bikes naked to celebrate cycling and the human body. The ride demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists and is a protest against car culture. WNBR is a world-wide campaign, with a number of linked themes.
WNBR’s objectives are to:
- Protest against the global dependency on oil
- Curb car culture
- Obtain real rights for cyclists
- Demonstrate the vulnerability of cyclists on city streets
- Celebrate body freedom
